FillyJobber — Privacy Policy
FillyJobber (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is a browser extension that helps you auto-fill job application forms and track applications. This policy explains what information the extension handles and how it is used.
We do not operate a backend server. Your data is stored on your device.
1. Information we handle
Information you provide
When you use FillyJobber, you may store:
- Profile data — name, email, phone, address, work history, links, cover letter text, and other fields you load or enter
- Job application records — job titles, companies, URLs, status, and notes
- Extension preferences — auto-fill settings, backup options, and similar toggles
Information read from web pages (only when you take action)
The extension does not run on every website automatically. It only accesses a web page when you trigger an action, such as:
- Fill Form Now
- Track This Application / Refresh on the Applications tab
When triggered, the extension may read form fields, job descriptions, and page metadata (e.g. job title, company name, URL) only on the tab you are actively using to perform that action.
2. How we use your information
We use your information solely to provide extension features:

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. Where your data is stored
Browser storage (default)
By default, all data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome/Edge extension storage
(chrome.storage.local). It stays on your device and is not uploaded to us.
Optional local folder backup
If you enable folder backup, the extension can write JSON files to a folder you select on your computer. We do not access that folder except when you choose backup, sync, or import actions.
Optional export / import
You may export or import backup files manually. Those files remain under your control.
4. What we do not collect
FillyJobber does not:
- Collect analytics or usage telemetry
- Use cookies or tracking pixels on a website we operate (this policy page is static)
- Sell or rent your personal information
- Automatically upload your profile or applications to our servers
- Send your data to third-party AI services or any external servers
5. Permissions
The extension requests browser permissions only to function:
- Storage — save your profile, settings, and applications locally
- Scripting & tabs — interact with the page you are on when you click an action
- Side panel — display the extension interface
- Optional site access — read or fill forms on a job site only after you allow that site in Chrome’s prompt
The extension does not request broad access to all websites at install time
(<all_urls> or install-time host_permissions). When you click
an action such as Fill Form Now or Refresh, Chrome may ask
you to allow access to that specific site (for example, linkedin.com). Each site
is granted separately and only when you approve it.
Allowed sites remain permitted until you revoke them in
chrome://extensions → FillyJobber → Site access.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can:
- Clear profile data in the extension (Clear All on the Auto-Fill tab)
- Delete individual tracked applications
- Export then delete backup files from your folder
- Remove the extension from your browser (this removes locally stored extension data)
Uninstalling the extension deletes data stored in browser extension storage. Data in an optional backup folder you created is not automatically deleted — remove those files manually if desired.
7. Security
Your personal data is stored locally in your browser. Keep backup files private.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Use the extension only on devices you trust.
8. Children’s privacy
FillyJobber is not intended for users under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.

11. Summary
- Your job search data stays on your device by default.
- No data is sent to our servers or third parties.
- No analytics. No tracking. No ads.
- Page access is granted one site at a time when you click an action and approve Chrome’s prompt.
